Rabbi Shelley Goldman was born and raised in and around Chicago, IL and ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She moved to Indianapolis in 2016 to be Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck.  She works in all areas of synagogue life from reading stories with our 4- and 5-year-old Early Childhood Center children to leading Torah Study with adults on Shabbat mornings.  Rabbi Goldman teaches our 10th grade confirmation students, studies with our Bar/Bat Mitzvah students in preparation to write their speeches and leads a monthly healing service.  She coordinates our Torah on Tap program for Jews in their 20s & 30s and our Tot Shabbat Experience for children under 3 and their families.  Rabbi Goldman provides on going pastoral counseling, lifecycle officiation and you can find her teaching and leading services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.  She has been involved in multifaith work, activism and community organizing for many years and is currently a member of Faith in Indiana’s Clergy Council, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation’s Board of Directors, and St. Vincent’s Clinical Pastoral Education Community Advisory Board.  Rabbi Goldman is co-chair of the Indiana Board of Rabbis.  She lives in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood with her lawfully wedded partner and their 11-year-old niece.
